Candle Instructions for Use
Candle Care & Safety
A few simple tips to help your candle burn beautifully and safely.
Before You Light
-
Trim the Wick: Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch before every burn. This prevents soot and keeps the flame controlled.
-
Clear the Wax: Ensure the wax surface is clean and free of any debris or wick trimmings.
-
Safe Placement: Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, open windows, or fans.
The Perfect Burn
-
The First Burn is Key: The first time you light your candle, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar (about 2–3 hours). This sets the "memory" of the wax and prevents tunneling.
-
Time Limit: To keep the glass from getting too hot, burn your candle for no more than 3–4 hours at a time.
While Burning
-
Never Leave Unattended: Always keep an eye on your glow.
-
Safety First: Keep candles out of reach of children, pets, and anything flammable.
-
Stay Put: Avoid moving the candle while the wax is liquefied or the glass is hot.
When You're Finished
-
Gently Extinguish: Use a snuffer if possible to prevent smoke and splashing wax.
-
Know When to Say Goodbye: Stop burning your candle when about 1/2 inch of wax remains in the bottom.
-
Cool Down: Allow the jar to cool completely before handling or replacing the lid.
